WELCOME TO THE HOLYLAND
Upon your arrival to Ben Gurion Airport you will be met and assisted by our IBMT-Holyland Tours representative and transferred to your hotel for check in. Remainder of the day is free to spend at leisure. Take advantage of this opportunity to mingle with the locals. Shop at the amazing shopping malls, relax at an authentic Israeli restaurant and enjoy the amazing food Tel Aviv has to offer, or just enjoy a relaxing day at one of the beautiful beaches. DAY 3 Thursday
INDEPENDENCE HALL / LATRUN / AYALON INSITITUTE
Start the day with a visit to the Independence Hall where the establishment of the state of Israel was declared. We will continue to Latrun to visit the Armored Corps museum , one of the most diverse tank museums in the world. Then you will get to view the new and amazing "Mini Israel" miniature park which includes miniature replicas of the most important landmarks and buildings in Israel. Continue the day with a visit to the Ayalon Institute, once an ammunition factory for the Hagana, which means "The Defense". HaHagana was a Jewish paramilitary organization in what was then the British Mandate of Palestine from 1920 to 1948, which later became the core of the Israel Defense Forces. Overnight stay in Tel-Aviv.
DAY 4 Friday
DIASPORA MUSEUM / OLD JAFFA / TEL AVIV
Visit the Diaspora museum, The museum opened in May 1978 and at that time was considered as one of the most innovative museums in the world. Enjoy a drive around the main streets of Tel Aviv, the center of business and entertainment of Israel. Stop at Rabin's Square, the place of assassination of Prime Minister Itzhak Rabin. Continue to Old Jaffa , an 8000 year old port city. Visit the ancient ruins and walk along the restored artist's quarter. Visit Neve Tzedek, the first neighborhood of Tel Aviv, built in 1909 and Nahalat Benyamin, the pedestrian street of the city with its musicians, handmade Jewellery and artifacts. Next, stop at Sheinkin, the lively and colorful street known for its unique chic shops, vibrant cafe life and youthful Ambiance. Overnight stay in Tel-Aviv
DAY 5 Saturday
FREE DAY AT LEISURE / TEL AVIV
Enjoy another day to explore on your own the different venues Tel Aviv has to offer. If it is the local bazaar, Shouk Ha Carmel, or the old train station, the different restaurants, or just enjoy a walk on the beautiful boardwalk along the beach.
DAY 6 Sunday
CAESAREA / MEGIDDO / DRUZE VILLAGE / HAIFA
Drive along the coastal plain to Caesarea, capital of Judea under the Romans. See the excavations of the Crusader city and the Roman port, aqueduct and the amphitheater that has been restored to its former glory as a concert venue. Proceed to Megiddo, identified as the site of Armageddon and visit the archaeological excavations including the well preserved water supply system. Continue to Daliat El Carmel, a Druze village and enjoy a late lunch at a local restaurant, The Druze form a religious minority in Israel of more than 100,000, mostly residing in the north of the country. Proceed via Mount Carmel to Haifa for a breathtaking panoramic view of the Haifa bay and the Golden domed Bahai Shrine and gardens. Overnight stay in a Kibbutz guesthouse.
DAY 7 Monday
SAFED / GOLAN HEIGHTS / WINERY
Drive to Safed, the center of Jewish mysticism, where you will visit the ancient synagogues and the artists' colony. Continue to the Golan Heights to see the former Syrian bunkers, Kuneitra and the new Israeli town of Katzrin. Stop at the Golan winery for a tour and wine tasting. Proceed to "Kessem Hagolan", a multimedia presentation of the area and its history. Overnight in a Kibbutz guesthouse.
DAY 8 Tuesday
SEA OF GALILEE / NAZARETH
Start the day with a visit to Nazareth via Cana of Galilee, where Jesus performed his first public miracle: the turning of water into wine at the wedding feast. Visit the church of Annunciation and continue to Tiberias; Visit Capernaum it is believed to have been Jesus' home, to see the ruins of the synagogue and octagonal church of St. Peter; Visit Mount of Beatitudes where Jesus delivered the sermon on the mount . Drive via Beit Shean to Beit to see the remains of the mosaic floor of an ancient synagogue depicting the zodiac. Return to Jerusalem for an overnight stay.
DAY 9 Wednesday
JERUSALEM : THE OLD CITY
Start the day with a view from Mount of Olives. Drive to the Old City. Visit the Tomb of King David and the room of The Last Supper on Mount Zion. Enter the walled city and walk through the newly restored Jewish quarter. Visit the Roman Cardo, the Herodian quarter and continue to the magnificent Western Wall. Take a spiritual walk along the Via Dolorosa to the church of the Holy Sepulchre. Continue to Bethlehem view Rachel's tomb and proceed to visit the Church of Nativity and manger's square. The church was originally commissioned in 327 AD by Constantine and his mother Helena over the site that traditionally considered to be located over the cave that marks the birthplace of Jesus of Nazareth. Conclude the day with dinner and overnight stay in Jerusalem.
DAY 10 Thursday
JERUSALEM : THE NEW CITY
Depart to the Israel museum. Visit the Shrine of the book where the Dead Sea Scrolls are housed and the miniature model of Jerusalem as it was during the second temple period. Proceed for a tour at the Knesset , Israel's parliament . Continue to visit Mount Herzl cemetery and proceed to Yad Vashem, Israel's official memorial to the Jewish victims of the Holocaust, established in 1953. Visit Mea Shearim , the ultra orthodox neighborhood in Jerusalem and learn about their unique lifestyle. In the evening enjoy a Middle Eastern dinner followed by the spectacular "sound& light" show* at the Tower of David museum. (Weather conditions permitting). Overnight stay in Jerusalem.
DAY 11 Friday
QUMERAN / MASADA / DEAD SEA
Drive through the beautiful Judean Desert to the Dead Sea, which surface and shores are 423 meters(1,388 ft) below sea level, Earth's lowest elevation on land. Stop at Qumran to visit the site where the Dead Sea Scrolls were found by a Bedouin boy in 1947. Drive along the shores of the Dead Sea to Masada. Ascend by cable car and tour the ancient fortress where the Zealots made their last stand against the Romans before committing mass suicide in 73 AD. Descend by cable car. Continue to the Dead Sea. Cover yourself with the mineral rich mud and experience a swim in the Dead Sea. It is said and many believe that it has therapeutic effects. Overnight stay in Jerusalem.
DAY 12 Saturday
FREE DAY AT LEISURE IN JERUSALEM
Enjoy a stroll on your own at the Old City of Jerusalem. Visit the local colorful bazaar were you can work on your negotiating skills, or visit the local cafes or amazing restaurants and get a feel of local habits and mentality. Overnight stay in Jerusalem.
DAY 13 Sunday
TIMNA / UNDERWATER OBSERVATORY / EILAT
Travel south through the Negev desert and enjoy its stunning scenery. Visit Timna, see the copper mines and most striking and well-known rock formation in Timna Valley, Solomon's Pillars. Continue to Eilat, Israel's southernmost city, located on the Red Sea coast and stop at the underwater observatory, one of the largest sea Aquariums in the world, built into a coral reef. Enjoy Dinner and overnight in Eilat. If time permits stroll the interesting boardwalk along the beach and hotel areas and enjoy the local nightlife.
DAY 14 Monday
EILAT or OPTIONAL DAY IN PETRA
Free day in Eilat or Optional Day Tour to Petra. After assisting you with your visa arrangements to Jordan, you will drive to Petra through desert highways. Your ultimate destination is the astonishing rose-red city of Petra which was built by the Nabateans (An early Arab tribe). Petra was renowned for its massive architecture, pools, dams and water channels. Petra is the legacy of the Nabateans who settled in the south of Jordan more than 2000 years ago. The visit begins with a possible short horseback-ride of about 700 meters until the entrance of the Siq, which is about 1.2 km long (walking distance). There is a possibility to rent a chariot (extra cost) to get inside Petra and back to the gate outside. Petra is famous for its huge monuments such as the treasury, royal tombs, the court, roman theater, roman street, Qasser El- Bint (Palace of Pharaoh's daughter) and many other smaller monuments which fascinate the visitors. The city itself is almost 45 square km and is considered to be the second wonder of the world. On completion of this breathtaking visit you will be enjoying yourself with lunch in a nice Restaurant. After lunch drive back to border. Transfer to the border will be at around 18:00 p.m and cross back to Eilat. Dinner and overnight in Eilat.
DAY 15 Tuesday
MITZPE RAMON / SDE BOKER / TEL AVIV
Morning departure of Eilat, on the way you will stop to gaze into the Ramon crater , a geological wonder. Proceed to Sde Boker and see Israels first prime minister, Ben Gurion's hut and grave overlooking the magnificent Zin valley. Stop for a camel ride and experience life how it was in the desert in an authentic Bedouin tent. Learn about the customary Bedouin hospitality and enjoy a light authentic lunch. Continue to Hatzerim and visit Israel's air-force museum to view the planes and equipment where you will hear the story of this brave fighting force. Dinner and overnight in Tel Aviv.
