Peru tours and Travel

Peru is a tales of two areas, rugged mountainous terrain that supports an amazing ecosystem of natural flora and fauna that falls to a coastline that has many beautiful beaches, and you get a sense of Peru in a nutshell. You can visit areas where time has stood still when you visit the higher elevations in Peru, as the local folk has lived the same way for a thousand years. When you are in the upper regions of Peru the vistas of unspoiled wilderness will be the cornucopia for the eye to enjoy. Adventure tourism is a big part of the Peru experience and we at IBMT Tours have been catering to those who seek adventure tours of the country when they book Peru tours with us. Intrigue and mystery are part of the allure of Peru and tours of Peru will unlock the secrets of the country that is one of the best to visit in South America.

Peru tours, attractions to visit

  • When you think of Peru, one of the first things that might just come to mind is the ancient ruins of Machu Picchu – it sits approximately 300m above the Urubamba River. Standing alone atop the backdrop, the ruined city shows off a view of the jungle that is lush and provides a kaleidoscope of colors for eye to feast upon. Once inside the ruins, you will see ancient art and the remains of a bustling hub of civilization that the Incas created to serve their needs.
  • For the adventurer, we highly recommend the four-day hike that is the walk along the Inca Trail that ends at Machu Picchu. Our company has permission to book your four-day trek from the government who limits tourist visits to protect the pristine scenery from overuse. If you aren’t an experienced hiker, you will be by the time you have finished your trip – the biggest challenge for the trekkers is on the second day when you make a 1200m ascent to a couple of high mountain passes that lead you to the end of your journey. The trail is dotted with many Inca ruins and you can stop to explore them as you make your way to your final destination Machu Picchu.
  • If you like boat cruises, a trip to Lake Titicaca – almost 4000m above sea level is a cruise that can’t be missed. The lake is famous for being the highest navigable lake in the world and the villages that surround the lake are well worth the visit. To see old Peru, a stop at the floating islands known as Islas Flotantes is the way to see how people have lived and thrived since history was recorded in the area.
  • When you descend the mountainous region of Peru, the first stop to make is at Nazca Lines in the desert near Nazca and Paracas. The lines are drawings, really, and they depict over 70 species of plants and animals and the magnitude of what you are looking at will take a while to digest. But one thing all visitors to the area agree on is the lines left them awestruck.
  • When heading for the Amazon, your jumping off point will be at Puerto Maldonado, just an hour by air from Cusco. Wildlife and the lush green confines of the rainforest are magnets for visitors and seeing new species of animals in their natural environment is what keeps tourist of all nationalities coming back.
  • What visit to Peru would be complete without a stop in Lima? It houses many UNESCO World Heritage buildings that date back to the 18th century. In 1746, Lima was hit with a devastating earthquake and was re-built thereafter with many of the buildings surviving for hundreds of years thereafter. Churches, government administration buildings that are some of the finest architecture in the country are waiting for your visit.

Testimonials

We recently returned from a IBMT Tour for our son’s Bar Mitzvah and we all agree that it was the best vacation that we have taken to date.  The tour was well organized and the staff were friendly and very knowledgeable.  The events that they include in the tour include everything “must see” in Israel and activities that will make you laugh, cry, and everything in between.  The tour allows for activities for all ages and accommodates anyone who wants to do more or less than they have planned.  It is ...

To Ornan and  IBMT Tours staff,

We just got back from tour with IBMT for our Bat Mitzvah Tour in Israel.

We are so glad we have chosen the right company for our tour as I can’t express my words of how wonderful this tour company was, starting before we left, the personal service they showed here back home and later the service in Israel with our great tour guide Natalie who was so informative on every place we went and what we saw. It was so wonderful to listen to a ...

Dear Sheryl,

The visit to Israel was better than advertised. All of us had an awesome and inspiring vacation or as I call it, an education. Danny is one of the nicest and smartest men I have had the pleasure of meeting. He made the trip so special and I cannot imagine any other person showing us Israel but Danny.

Hotels were great but for Eilat, but no big deal. Food in Jerusalem and Tel Aviv restaurants were delicious. Sheila in Tel Aviv was extraordinary. Dinners at hotels just “so so”. Loved Mitzpe ...

Craig Savage,

Ornan,

Thank you very much for the IBMT Bat Mitzvah tour we just completed.  We had a fabulous time & there were lots of special little parts from the tour that contributed to that.  The different experiences for dinner were very special, and I liked the variety of different types of sites/attractions.  Our tour guide Natalie was excellent, and I heard good things from the other group about their guide Liat.

Thanks again

9 Days Holyland Tour

Sara / Ornan,

I had a fabulous time on this tour and highly recommend it to anyone interested.  We had an especially knowledgeable guide with us Doron Hoffman who as a history major added so much more information and had a great demeanor.  I was part of an international group and made some new friends.

Regards,

Hi Ornan,

"Opting to celebrate our son's bar mitzvah this summer with IBMT is one of the best decisions we've ever made.  The itinerary took us to places around the country that I've never experienced on previous trips to Israel.  Experiencing our son's bar mitzvah atop Masada as opposed to a more rushed, crowded experience at the wall truly sets IBMT apart from other tour companies.  The professionalism of the IBMT staff both in North America and Israel was superb...everything was incredibly well organized and we were heartened ...
